Your favourite wool jumper deserves care designed with its fibres in mind. Yarn Food Wool Wash is a gentle, fibre-specific wash for wool, cashmere, merino, alpaca, mohair, angora and other animal fibres — whether your piece is handmade, bought or treasured for years.

The carefully considered formula cleans while added lanolin helps condition animal fibres, leaving them soft, supple and beautifully cared for. Its low-foam formula means there’s no need for repeated rinsing, reducing unnecessary handling of delicate fibres.

MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR ANIMAL FIBRES - Different fibres have different needs. Wool Wash has been formulated especially for wool and other animal fibres, with a fibre-appropriate pH of 5.0–5.5.

WITH ADDED LANOLIN - Lanolin helps condition animal fibres and maintain their naturally soft, supple feel.

NO REPEATED RINSING REQUIRED - Wool Wash uses surfactants that loosen dirt from the fibres and suspend it in the wash water. When you lift the garment out, the loosened dirt stays in the water rather than settling back into the fibres. Because the formula is low-foaming, repeated rinsing isn’t needed. This means less handling and agitation of delicate fibres during washing, while allowing the conditioning ingredients to remain in the garment.

FOR EVERYDAY FAVOURITES AND TREASURED PIECES - Ideal for cashmere jumpers, merino layers, wool cardigans, scarves, delicate knitwear and other animal-fibre garments.

IDEAL FOR HAND-KNITS AND BLOCKING TOO - Our roots are in knitting, and Wool Wash remains a lovely finishing wash for handmade garments and wet blocking.

UP TO 60 WASHES - Use 5 ml / approximately 3 pumps in soft water or 10 ml / approximately 6 pumps in hard water per 5 litres of water.

    • Ingredients: 2–10% anionic surfactants; <5% non-ionic surfactants; <5% amphoteric surfactants; Lavandula Hybrida Grosso Oil; Linalool; parfum; phenoxyethanol; potassium sorbate.
    • Safety Info: Warning: Causes serious eye irritation. Contains Linalyl Acetate, Linalool and Lavandula Hybrida Grosso. May produce an allergic reaction. Keep out of reach of children. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Avoid contact with eyes. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice or attention.

    If ordering tops, roving or jumbo yarn, all quantities will be sent in a continual length (up to 10kg) unless otherwise stated or requested.

  • Our fibres & yarns are made right here at WoW HQ. During the production and picking of your items, we operate a +/- 5% tolerance on item weights, as they are hand finished & picked.

    We always try to compensate for this and provide above, but with fine margins, we can guarantee up to +/- 5% tolerance.
