Father's Day craft - How to make a felt wine sleeve

Father's Day is fast approaching, so why not make him a felt wine sleeve, perfect to keep his favourite wine safe!

What you'll need:

- Felt, use a colour of your choice! Available here from World of Wool
- Button
- Needle and threadl
- Scissors
- Pins - to hold the felt together whilst sewing

What to do:

1. Cut two pieces of felt into 3'' x 8'' and another two pieces into 6'' x 8'' and one piece into a 4'' circle using scissors
2. Pin the two 6" x 8" pieces together (RIGHT sides out; you want to see the seams) and sew along the two edges.
3. Next, pin on the circle piece to the bottom and sew.
4. Take the two 3" x 8" strips and pin together. Sew along three sides. You do not need to sew the fourth edge because you will be sewing that to the back of the sleeve.
5. Now you need to cut out the area that will fit through the top of the wine bottle. The opening should be 2-1/2" long x 1-1/2" wide. You could use a roll of tape to trace the half circle on each end.
6. Start the half circle 2" from the top of the rectangle (the top is the edge that you didn't sew along).
7. Cut around the area you have just drawn and sew along the edges
8. Pin the rectangle to the back of your bag and sew. Make sure to only sew to the back of the bag and not through both layers!
9. Put a wine bottle in the bag and determine where your buttonhole and button should be sewn. Cut the buttonhole and sew edges using your needle and thread, then sew the button to bag.
10. And there you have it, your felt wine sleeve for Father's Day!
