4 August - 4 September: Heirlooms - as part of this year's Edinburgh International Festival programme, the Dovecot Studios will be hosting a display of historical Javanese and Indian textiles on loan from the private collection of Jonathan Hope, alongside new work by contemporary makers Deirdre Nelson, Sarah Sumsion and Naomi Robertson.

11-14 August: The Festival of Quilts at the NEC, Birmingham, has earned a reputation over the past eight years as the largest, most inspiring quilting event in Europe. It boasts a host of gallery exhibitions from leading international artists and groups.

20 & 21 August: Fibre Fest is a non-profit event held in Budleigh in Devon that brings to life the world of natural fibres. Trade stands, workshops, seminars and an exhibition.

26 - 31 August: Folk Art and Faery Tales is a a delightful mix of Wall Hangings, Soft Sculptures and Faery Tale Goodies from mother and daughter Eileen and Samantha Fowler taking place at the Cowslip Workshops in Cornwall.

Now - 29 August: Made In Yorkshire - The work on show will demonstrate a variety of skills by Yorkshire textile artist including weaving, embroidery and quilting ranging in form from woven scarves to applied landscapes.
