Following in the footsteps of The Great British Bake Off, and trying to replicate its success, is The Great British Sewing Bee. Now three episodes into the second series, the 'sewers' have already been tested on their ability to match and combine patterned fabric, and use of three fabrics - cotton, wool and silk.
Hopefully in coming episodes they will get the chance to show their skills with some felting, dyeing or spinning - or are we asking too much? It would be nice to see some of this country's more traditional crafts given the limelight too.
We are fortunate enough to see amazing artwork, garments, accessories and figures created by our wonderful customers on a daily basis, and see pieces designed in front of our eyes during the workshops held in our premises, and share these with you via our website and Facebook pages.
Unfortunately we're not in a position to commission a new TV series - 'The Great Craft Revival' anyone? - but we can ask you to share the images of the amazing work produced by your fellow craft enthusiasts to inspire and delight your could-be crafting family and friends.Picture:
